Just got back from watching Superman Returns. Good movie. The casts were great. Brandon was a damn good looking guy. He played Clark quite well. The special effects and the screenplay were awesome. Too bad there’s this tiny thing that made me wondering. When Clark’s in the outer space, his cape was moving like it was blown by wind. I thought there’s no air in the outer space. Or was it still in the earth atmosphere??? It’s surely a movie for kids coz the plot was standard. There were some funny scenes, including Lex’s city models with all the trains etc. The bad guy who had funny tattoo on the back of his head and could play piano. And also Lex wasn’t as mean as he supposed to be. Not as I expected, but it’s okay.

In one of the scene Lois asked Clark how come Superman left without saying a word, even to her. Clark said maybe it’s just too unbearable, even for Superman to say good bye, especially to Lois. Yeahh, sometimes saying goodbye to the one you love the most can be the most difficult thing to do. It’s because you don’t wanna say those words (even when you have to)…Is it a coward act?

The relationship between Clark and Lois was the best thing about this movie (beside the special effects). Reminded me of Savage Garden’s song, I Don’t Know You Anymore… it’s similar to their situation where Clark has been gone for 5 years without saying a word and then suddenly came back to Lois’ life. Lois might say…”I don’t know you anymore”

Savage Garden - I Don't Know You Anymore

I would like to visit you for a while
Get away and out of this city
Maybe I shouldn't have called but
Someone had to be the first to break
We can go sit on your back porch
Relax
Talk about anything
It don't matter
I'll be courageous if you can pretend
That you've forgiven me

chorus:
Because I don't know you anymore
I don't recognise this place
The picture frames have changed
And so has your name
We don't talk much anymore
We keep running from the pain
But what I wouldn't give to see your face again

Springtime in the city
Always such a relief from winter freeze
The snow was more lonely than cold if you know what I mean
Everyone's got an agenda
Don't stop keep that chin up you'll be alright
Can you believe what a year it's been
Are you still the same?
Has your opinion changed?

chorus

I know I let you down
Again and again
I know I never really treated you right
I've paid the price
I'm still paying for it every day

So maybe I shouldn't have called
Was it too soon to tell?
Oh what the hell
It doesn't really matter
How do you redefine something that never really had a name?
Has your opinion changed?

chorus

I see your face
I see your face

can't wait to watch the next Superman movies....

Reminder

Yesterday was hibernating day. Slept for almost 12 hours. Woke up, ate n then watched Crash. A very good movie with one major theme, racism. The plot was great….It’s all about prejudice towards other people. It reminded us to avoid bad prejudice, to think positive about other people.

After watching Crash, took a nap and then attended afternoon mass. It was special coz the choir, the soloist and the one who read the bible were blind. I was amazed. They can sing and read very well. This experience also reminded me to be grateful for everything I have. Sometimes we forget to count all the blessings God has given us. We tend to look up and it makes us want more and more. We often take every blessing for granted. We don’t say thank, we become greedy and always wanting more. How many times do we complain to God that we don’t get enough what we want? It’s not wrong to look up coz that way we can be motivated to be better, but every once in a while we also have to look down a bit so we can realize that there are many who aren’t as lucky as we are. That’s why I wanna say, Thank You God.

Give Thanks

Give thanks, with a grateful heart
Give thanks, to the Holy One
Give thanks, because He’s given Jesus Christ, His son

And now,
Let the weak say I’m strong
Let the poor say I’m rich
Because of what the Lord has done, for us
Give thanks…

Portugal lost 1-3 against Germany. They had lots of chances but unfortunately only managed to score a goal.

Fons Memory

Went to Marsoed again today, after so long. I guess it has been almost four years since the last time I went there. My last visit was with Livia when she was in Jakarta. Went there to get my confirmation sacrament certificate and attended the afternoon mass.

It has changed quite lot. There were whiteboards instead of chalk boards. It was being painted (it’s school holiday now) with it’s usual color, green. Before I attended the mass I took a quick tour. The staircases were still the same. Walking down the corridor brought back lots of fond memories. First days at high school, being the head of the class, playing basket ball and volley ball, being suspended by the headmistress. I even remembered when Eddy n I slept in the bus and we missed our stop.

My headmistress at high school was very famous for her interrogation skill. She had reigned for almost thirty years if I’m not mistaken. When she talked, asking for some information, the temperature dropped very low. It gave you the chill. But in her administration the school quality was maintained. I wonder how the teachers are. Are they okay? How my friends are….we kinda lost contact…*sigh

Fons Vitae…lots of fond memories there…memories that always bring a smile and laughter…

Uno Più da Andare

YEAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Italy defeated Germany in the semifinal. I thought the match vs Australia was dramatic, but this match surely way more dramatic. Just seconds before the game continued in penalty shoot out, Italy ensured their place in the final with goals from Grosso and Del Piero....

Grosso scored in the 119th minute, while Del Piero scored in the last seconds of the 2nd extra time. After Del Piero's goal, the referee blowed the final whistle and I was overwhelmed by joy...It was very ecstatic..Though I hadn't slept, but I felt very energized. Adrenaline was such a powerful drugs. I can still feel the rush...... YEAAAHHHH!!!

History repeated itself when Italy ensured a place in the final. Italy always went through to the final in 12 years period, starting from 1970,1982, 1994, and now 2006. I just hope that they can be the world champion this year. They've come long way, showed some remarkable performances and I'm longing to see four stars on their jersey.

Pirlo was named man of the match, he deserved. It was from his long range effort that Germany conceded a corner, which was taken by Del Piero. The ball scrambled away but only fell to Pirlo again, who brillianty passed the ball to Grosso who scored with a beautiful curling left footed shot. The stadium roared and the Germany was very eager to get an equilazer to bring the match to penalty, since they're unbeatable in world cup penalty shoot out. But when the Germany was concentrating on getting that goal, Italy struck again from a lightning counter attack. Pirlo passed the ball to Gilardino. Gilardino unselfishly gave the ball to Del Piero, who made no mistake striking from close range with another beautiful shot. 2-0 for Italy . Overall, Italy played superbly. Buffon showed his class as the best goal keeper in the world by saving two golden opportunities from a close range shots.

Lehman got lucky twice in the extra time when Gilardino's and Zambrotta's hit the post. But his luck ran out in the 119th minute....Italy will meet France in the final, reminded me of Euro 2000 final. But this time, Italy will win!!! YEAAAHHHH!!!! Forza Italia

Grosso shot a beautiful curling shot

Lehman tried helplessly to parry Grosso's shot

Grosso's shot went in to Germany's net beautifully

Italian players celebrating Grosso's 'long waited and finally came' goal

Even Buffon went to celebrate Grosso's goal...btw, where's Grosso??? ;p

Del Piero coolly scored Italy's second goal, the killer goal

Del Piero: "YEAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"
(reminds me of his goal at 2002 world cup)

Il dio benedice, è il campione del mondo

Reminisce

Been sleeping over at friend’s place these last two days. Yesterday was another journey back to the past. It brought back very fond memories of my uni days. Attended afternoon mass at Mary Mother of Carmel church. It was being renovated coz it couldn’t accommodate the (maybe growing) number of people who go there to celebrate Eucharist. I thought it was big already and very comfortable too, but it seemed that it wasn’t big enough. The sermon was good, talking about believing, have faith. Even in trouble times when there seems no hope, God is always with us. Tomorrow I’m gonna go to do on-site support for a month. I have to support a system which I’ve only known n learnt for about two weeks. I doubted I could do it well, but after hearing the sermon yesterday, I realized that I was being reminded to believe in Him. Have faith, do my best and leave the rest to God. Though there’s other doubt that still hanging in the back of my mind, I’m pretty sure I can do the job well.

Last Friday probably will be the last day of my long chat sessions with Moet since I don’t know yet whether I’m gonna get an internet connection on the site I support or not. Beside I won’t be staying on one site, I’ll be visiting other sites and only in the last two weeks that I’ll be staying on one site. *sigh Well, like I wrote in my previous blog, life is a struggle. It’s interesting what Mel wrote in her blog. She wrote something like this, no matter how hard you try, if it isn’t meant for you, you won’t get it. I guess that’s when fate takes over the decision in our life. We may struggle very hard, we may do the best we can, but sometimes there’re things that we just can’t have or achieve. Sad, but true. We just can’t have it all.

Anyway, after the mass I went to San2 place. Played WE and then watched the match between Portugal and England, which won by Portugal after a penalty shoot out. Portugal goalkeeper, Ricardo did brilliantly by blocking 3 penalties. Two of them were shot by England most dangerous midfielder, Lampard n Gerrard. It seemed that England just couldn’t win penalty shootout. They lost from Portugal too in a penalty shoot out back in Euro 2004. Portugal ensured their place in the semifinal. I know a person who jumped (and maybe still jumping..lolz) in happiness seeing Portugal made it to the semifinal, especially seeing the last Portugal penalty taker scored.

Binus really have changed. I saw lots of new buildings that weren’t there last year. *sigh. Uni days…too bad it’s already in the past. Zoo class, the exams, the projects, staying at friend’s place. We all have gone our own ways. We’ve changed, nothing stays the same. We must look forward. It’s okay to look back in the past sometimes and reminisce the good memories we had, but lingering in the past won’t do any good. We’ll be standing still. We have to move on. I read once in Mel’s blog about this move on thing and I think we should be moving on with carrying all the memories we had, either good or bad, coz they’re the ones that makes us the person we are now and (with optimism) guide us to be the person we wanna be. They’re all lessons in life.

At midnite went to Mille, nothing much changed, I just didn’t get excited like I used to. The music wasn’t as good as it used to be and the place was just….boring. Instead of going to the dance floor, I watched the penalty shoot out between Portugal and England. It was then I realized that nite life like that is just not my thing. But looking at other people there, it seemed that they really had a good time. My only good time there was the sound system (but not the songs) performance and watching France vs Brazil match. I’ve known enough and it feels much better just to stay home, watching DVDs, listening music, reading book than getting my self killed slowly by very thick cigarette smoke, drinking and listening to crap music.

It’s more interesting to talk about the match. France finally won 1-0 against Brazil. Henry scored the winning goal from Zidane’s free kick. France played with that killer determination like the one they had in World Cup 1998 final match, in which they also won against Brazil. Brazil formation itself was rather surprising. Parreira didn’t play Adriano from the beginning. He was brought on when they already conceded a goal. But France managed to hold on from Brazil’s desperate attempts to find an equalizer. The score line didn’t change till the final whistle was blown. France will be meeting Portugal in the semi final. In my dream scenario, Italy win against Germany and they’ll meet France in the final (France win against Portugal). And in the final, Italy win against France, getting their fourth star and a sweet revenge after a defeat in the Euro 2000 final, thanks to Wiltord and Trezeguet goals. Hopefully this scenario will go as planned….

Two more

YEAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!

Italy won in their quarter final match against Ukraine. It was their best performance in the 2006 world cup so far. Though I haven’t opened FIFA site, I’m sure that Zambrotta was the man of the match. Zambrotta opened Italy victory at 6 minute with a fabulous left foot strike for outside the penalty box. It was his second goal in the national team and it was a magnificent one. I watched the game with my pal, Jef after watching a disappointing result from the Argentina vs Germany, which ended in Germany victory.

Zambrotta prominence contribution came when he deflected the ball offline after a Ukrainian’s player shot was palmed away by Buffon (who also played very well) but fell to another Ukrainian player who shot for goal. It was a very important save. And he also assisted in Italian third goal in 69 minute with a fine crossing to Luca Toni who scored his second goal of the match and the tournament. Well, Toni really made up his goalless appearance in Italy previous matches. He scored two goals in 10 minutes time. The first was scored in 59 minute with a powerful header. YEAHHHH!!!!

A convincing win and score line. Italy have the momentum now. They just need to maintain it since they’ll be facing Germany, the host of this year tournament in the semifinal. The match will be held in Dortmund at July 4, 2006. If they win, they’ll go through to the final. Come on Italy, two more wins and you’ll get another star on your jersey. God bless… YEAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Zambrotta magnificent goal

Toni's first goal of the tournament

Toni's second goal..an easy one, thanks to Zambrotta

An expression of love for former teammate (but he's still with La Vecchia Signora)
