Quintillion Things

It’s been quite some times since my last post. There have been so many things that have happened since then. I better divide them into three phases. Here we go :

Phase One : WebGaul and Gillian Chung

From the middle - end of April I was very active at WG. In less than two weeks time I was able to post about 800 something posts. I was able to do that because there were wasn’t too many things that I have to do at work. In fact I can say that I didn’t have anything to do at that period. There were so many postponed decisions so I could only wait.

That led me to browse the internet, WG especially. At that period I also able to make new friend. I met him at WG, and after that we exchanged YM id and we chatted. We were both huge Smallville fans. His name was Greg. Chat with Hamlet, Grace, Agus, Greg and my other friends was my main activity at the office that time..(my friend used to say that I get paid for doing nothing….LOL in Indonesianàmakan gaji buta).

I browse almost all the forums at WG, due to my abundant spare time and free internet facility. From SDS, Kenalan Warga WG, Gosip Artis, Cerita Lucu, Pojok Sepakbola, Handphone, Social Science (Thanks to Hamlet who gave me the link about this and also about the amazing facts links. I was astonished to read all the facts that you have gathered. They were unbelievable. I was really interested in the magic number of 23 and also about the connection between Lincoln n Kennedy).

As usual, my weekend activities were relaxing at home, watching DVDs and playing WE at my good friend’s house. There were some movies that I remembered at this period. First was The Punisher. Standard plot, but still interesting to be watched. Thomas Jane was quite good as The Punisher, but I was expecting The Punisher to be meaner. And the ladies were Rebecca Romijn Stamos and Laura Harring. Coincidentally, Laura Harring played the character Livia Saint, and I have a good friend whose name is Livia.. I couldn’t stop grinning everytime I saw Livia Saint entering the screen.

My vigorous browsing at WG also led me to this new infatuation for Gillian Chung. I already knew her when I was at university, but maybe I was seeing her in a different angle. There were lots other DVDs that I bought, one of them was Twins Effect2. I bought it unintentionally, cos I have seen Twins Effect 1 and it was awful (I think). The story was so lame. The movie only sells the Twins. Okay for you who don’t know about the Twins, I’m gonna introduce them a bit. The are a group music from HK. They’re very popular, especially at HK. They consist of 2 members, (The Cute) Charlene Choi and (The Gorgeous) Gillian Chung. At 2002 they started to play in movies too. If you want to know more about them, just search at Google. I’m sure you’ll get tons of result. Okay, back to Twins Effect 2. Twins Effect 2 offered more interesting plot, and also Jackie Chan’s son, Jaycee Chan as the leading actor. And the important thing (to me) was that Gillian was very beautiful there. She’s so damn cool. My infatuation grew exponentially. The net day at work, I browsed the internet to find all the movies in which Gillian appeared. I got the list and printed it and after work I went to Ambassador Mall to buy them. But I only got few of them. To make long story short, I watched them all. And the best was House of Fury. Gillian played w Stephen Fung and Anthony Wong. Very good comedy. The fighting scenes were good coz they were arranged by Yuen Woo Ping.

My infatuation for Gillian ended this phase one. Btw, I finally reached 1000 posts, actually it was 1100 sth posts…

Phase Two : Da Vinci Code

Following this newly found infatuation, there was an event that helped in reducing it. It was the internet connection. The next week my internet connection at office suddenly went awry. I couldn’t get online, I couldn’t browse, I couldn’t chat. Luckily I got another thing to help me kill the boredom. It was Da Vinci Code. I finished in 4 days time, including 2 days at office. It was very good novel. No wonder it has brought so many controversy. You must read it yourself to know what I’m saying. But beware, it might can make you questioning the basic principal of faith itself. You can feel lost after reading this. But I always put this on my mind, it was just a novel. Nothing more. A novel with excellent story and illustration. After reading it, I really wanted to go to Louvre, Temple Church and Rosslyn.

To end this phase, I got tons of pictures of Gillian (Yeah, the internet was up again the following week). I got them from this amazing site. Let me share some of them with you. Enjoy !

Phase Three : Star Wars 3, RTK and New Pentecost

Entering May, fresh wind blew. Work was getting better. There were some meetings with clients and (finally) got quite lot of things to be done. So I wasn’t too active at WG. But I still managed to downloaded Gillian pics (500 sth ..LOL). I had this little reunion (can I say reunion if it’s only 3 persons?) w my friends. We went to karaoke place, a quite new one.. InulVizta at Gadink (Inul is a very famous dangdut singer in Indonesia, and she gains her popularity because of the pirated CDs of her performance in villages). But the karaoke place itself was good. It had camera…We had so many laughs. And after that me and Agus went to Gadink mall to watch Star Wars 3, a very waited movie to close the prologue which explain why Anakin turned to the dark side. We bought the ticket, but there was still an hour or so to kill, so we played pool. I finally got the chance to use the glove that my friend gave me at my birthday. I was getting better (maybe because of the glove???). And then we watched the movie. The first hour was kinda boring, but after that it was getting better until it reached the climax when Anakin fought against his own mentor, Obi Wan Kenobi. And I also got new collection from Agus. Got new Ruu…LOL….

After that I didn’t know how it start, but I was interested in Romance of Three Kingdoms (RTK). I played it since junior high school. And I wanna play it again. So I browsed the internet, and for PC version, it has reached #10. I bought the CD (I bought RTK 9). But to my dismay, it was Chinese version, the English version was only released for PS2. Damn…I tried to look for the patches (Translation to english), got them, but they were only work a little. Lots of dialogue and menus that were still in Chinese. So I bought the game but I can’t play it, except I play it with someone who understands Chinese.

The final event of this phase was yesterday’s KRK. The Power of Pentecost. I also attended the seminar. The speaker was Father Raniero Cantalamessa OFMCap. (Switch to Indonesian) Raniero Cantalamessa adalah seorang imam Katolik berordo Fransiskan Capuchin. Lahir di Ascoli Piceno, Italia, 22 Juli 1934. Ditahbiskan tahun 1954. Bergelar Doktor Teologi dan Doktor sastra Yunani-Romawi Kuno. Di Universitas Katolik Milan, beliau merupakan Guru Besar Luar Biasa untuk Sejarah Gereja Purba dan Direktur Departemen Ilmu Pengetahuan Keagamaan. Tahun 1979 beliau mengundurkan diri dari dunia akademis dan menjadi pengkhotbah injil secara penuh. Tahun 1980 Paus Yohanes Paulus II menunjuknya menjadi Pengkhotbah Rumah Tangga Kepausan. Dalam kapasitasnya ini, beliau membawakan khotbah mingguan pada masa Adven dan Pra Paskah yang dihadiri oleh Bapa Suci, para Kardinal, Uskup, Wali Gereja dan pemimpin tertinggi ordo-ordo Katolik.

Meskipun beliau sudah berumur 71, tapi beliau tampak seperti orang yang baru berumur 50an tahun. Beliau masih energik. Sebenarnya badanku tidak terlalu sehat kemarin (batuk, pilek, sedikit demam, plus serak). Tapi aku memaksakan diri untuk ikut karena aku bertugas sebagai tatib. Untungnya orang yang datang lebih sedikit daripada yang sudah diperkirakan. Ada sekitar 4000 orang yang datang dari 6000 orang yang diperikirakan akan hadir. Bagian yang menjadi tanggung jawabku kosong, jadi aku bisa pindah ke bagian lain untuk mendapatkan pemandangan yang lebih baik. Acara KRK ini berakhir pada pukul 10 malam. Aku merasakan ada sesuatu yang memenuhi hatiku dengan kegembiraan. Sangatlah menyegarkan menyanyi dan memuji Tuhan. Mungkin inilah yang dimaksud dengan makan rohani….??? Yang jelas aku merasa sangat segar waktu bangun hari ini. Thank you God..

Time After Time

Last nite I watched Kristin Kreuk clips that I downloaded using my office internet facility (Big Grin). Damn, she’s gorgeous. My mind went back to year 2001. I remembered the first time I saw her on Smallville. It was at Saturday afternoon. I was watching television, forgot what channel when I absent mindedly switched the channel to SCTV and there it was, Smallville with all it’s glory. At first I didn’t know that it was Smallville, I thought that it was just another teen drama serial, but when I looked at the title, Smallville, I was instantly intrigued coz I like DC Comics and also Marvel. And then I saw Kristin Kreuk for the very first time.

My first impression of her was quite normal, but the more I watched Smallville (and Kristin Kreuk), the more I got attracted by her exotic beauty. At that time I didn’t know who’s playing Lana Lang. I got to know her name the next week when I watched Smallville season1 episode 2 (Actually in the US the 1st and 2nd episode was aired continuously). I didn’t know all of the main cast of Smallville, never heard of them before. But I must say that the cast fits the character. That night I went online, searching for Smallville and Kristin Kreuk on the internet. The first website that I got was www.kristinkreuk.net. Got so many pictures of her from that site. I must salute SCTV coz Smallville was a brand new serial at that time. Time went by, I became a big fan of Smallville, and Kristin Kreuk. I love that serial because at that moment I also had this crush on a girl and I saw myself in Clark Kent’s position, well, except about the superpower thing.

There are two episodes that I like the most in Smallville season 1. They are Shimmer (Episode 10) and Crush (Episode 19). In Crush, there was this song that I like so much, it was Time After Time. Then I tried to get it, I got time after time that was sang by Inoj, not the slow version like in Crush, but it’s okay. N then after that my sister got Remy Zero – Save Me from kazaa. Save Me is Smallville’s theme song. And Smallville went on and when the first season was finished, I felt this emptiness. I didn’t want it to end, but like Matrix Revolution’s slogan,” Everything that has a beginning, has an end“. The first season ended at June (in US), but in Indonesian it ended at around November 2002, while in the US the 2nd season already started at October 2002.

The show itself was a big hit. It was very successful, maybe that’s why SCTV didn’t air it again, maybe it was becoming very expensive. Well anyway, me and my friend Jefry, who’s also a big fan of Smallville longing to watch the 2nd season. And when we visited Glodok, we often asked for Smallvilles season1 dvds. It was very difficult to get those dvds. It took months to get them. When we got them, it felt like we won jackpot. I watched season 1 again, the least I could do since SCTV didn’t air the 2nd season.

Time went by and finally Smallville season 2 dvds were available at Glodok, heaven for pirated dvds. I bought them, anxiously watched them. During the absence of Smallville at SCTV, I browsed through the internet and found this great French website. I downloaded lots of Smallville season 2 clips from there, especially the ones that got Kristin Kreuk in them. I also downloaded Kristin Kreuk ad clips, she’s the Neutrogena girl. And in December 2004, I finally got Smallville season 3 dvds. Got some of the episodes earlier from a friend of mine in April 2004 or so, but finally I could watched the whole season 3. At December 2004, Smallville season 4 was being aired in the US. At that time I thought “well, another year before I can watch Smallville season 4”. But in February 2005 I already could watch Smallville season 4 till episodes 11. Thanks a lot Liv!

Well, I have tons of Kristin Kreuk pictures and clips, but I think I don’t really fancy her again now. I mean not as intense as I was. It started to fade away. But still I like the songs Save Me and Time After Time..n still I consider Kristin Laura Kreuk as a gorgeous girl. And of course, I love Smallville..

(There’s gotta be) More To Life

My first post. Here I am, sitting on my chair, facing my computer. Just another Monday at the office. Today I went to work early at 5.40 AM, an hour early from my usual schedule. While I was driving to Auto 2000 Sudirman, watching sunrise I couldn’t help thinking about this life. With Stacie Orrico’s song, “More to Life“, playing on my mind, I thought about all the things that have been happening to me. At Santa Maria I saw Patas AC 49…It brought all the flashback memories from my college time. I miss that time. Reallly miss it. If I really had to choose, I would choose college time as the best time in my life. Dave’s n Robert’s place, Anggrek campus, Syahdan Plaza, Anggrek ATM, Kijang campus, all the other places and moments that I can’t mention one by one. “…Why can’t we be ourselves like we were yesterday..” , Yeah, but life goes on. People come and go. Man….time goes by so slowly, I practically don’t have anything to do right now.

There’s something missing, I don’t know that it is, I just feel it. Last nite I called this girl let just say L that I’m currently close with. Though I had told her that we should better be friends (after taking very careful and thorough consideration) and that I should not call her so often, but still everytime I talk to her on the phone, it feels so….I just can’t ever get enough…What is the purpose of life? I have read Purpose Drive Life, but haven’t completed it yet..but still sometimes this question come and everytime it comes I can never find the answer…Well, it almost lunch time now, I gonna finish here…and I think the most appropriate song for my feelings right now is :
