Ermm....dunno what title I should give for this post...since lots of random thoughts running through my mind at the moment, I think it'd be nice to scramble them and add some salt, pepper, spring onion and cook them....lollzzz....Okay, let's begin shall we
Watched two good movies last week. Bought the DVDs at the bazaar that was held here in Arkadia Green Office Complex. They're quite pricey but definitely worth the money. They had excellent qualites, except for 'The spirit of the sword'. I shouldn't have bought it..It's hard to tell mandarin movie which already has good quality. Only bought it because there were Gillian Chung and Nicholas Tse. The three other were Good Luck Chuck, The Nanny Diaries, and Bloodrayne 2: Deliverance.
First movie I watched was Good Luck Chuck, starring Jessica Alba and Dane Cook. I think it can be considered as romantic comedy. The story is about Charlie Logan, a dentist who was hexed when he was a little boy by a gothic girl after spin the bottle game. The funny thing (which I don't quite understand) is that apparently, every woman who sleeps with Charlie, will find her true love which is the guy right after Charlie. Another (questionable) thing here, true love was illustrated by marriage. Does marriage equals to true love? (Funny remembering US has high divorce rate). Anyway, Charlie met this girl, none other than Jessica Alba (her character name was Cam Wexler). He was attracted to her and he was worried that he'd be just another 'stepping stone', that after she sleeps with him, she'll end up marrying the guy after him. Then the madness started. He called her every minutes, sent her flowers and even dressed up in penguin costume (Jess Alba character loved penguins) and came to the sea world where she worked to surprise her. His vigorous attempt back fired. She was overwhelmed with his attentions and broke it off. After that Charlie kept a distance from her and did almost nothing except one thing that would make her happy (beside staying away). Long story short, the film ended happily.
Enough with the intro, this movie reminded me of a saying; "Loving someone is just like holding grains of sand. If you hold too tight, the sands will slip away between your fingers. If you hold too loose, the wind will blow the sands. Either way, eventually the sands will go away". That's what happened with Chuck (Charlie Logan). At first he was holding to tightly, afraid to let go, afraid to give some space. Jess line was a good one on this: "I want to be a part of your world, I don't wanna be your whole world". After that, by keeping some distance, not doing anything, Chuck was holding too loose and he almost lost her...hadn't been his dramatic action buying extra expensive airplane ticket to the south pole only to tell Jess how he feels. I think in every relationship we need some space every once in a while. Just like some lines in Gun's and Roses song, November Rain:
'Sometimes I need some time, on my own
Sometimes I need some time, lll alone
Everybody needs some time, on their own
Don't you know you need some time, all alone'
The question is now...How tight is our grip should be? How do we know the right measure? Ermmm....I think every person has his/her own standard, that's why in relationship there has to be a good communication. It takes two to tango, it takes effort from both sides to make a relationship works.
The second movie I watched was The Nanny Diaries. Bought it because it was starred by Scarlett Johansson, Laura Linney and Chris Evans (Jess Biel's ex :D)...plus Alicia Keys. It was about a fresh graduate named Annie Braddock (Scarlett) whose major in Finance and minor in Anthropology and tries to find her place in the world. Her mother wants her to get a good position in business world, while Annie herself seemed to be more interested in anthropology field study. Anyway she ended became a nanny for an elite family on the fifth avenue, Manhattan's Upper East Side (kinda reminded me of Gossip Girl :D), named "The Xs". Mrs. X was played excellenty by Laura Linney. She looked gorgeous. While she's working as a nanny, she learned that not everything is as beautiful as it seems. Wealthy families has problems of their own too. They might look happy on the outside, but everything is not always what it seems.
Before I spoil too much, I recommend to watch these movies..They are nice to watch. And if you're a fan of game (and Natassia Malthe) you might want to watch Bloodrayne 2. I've noticed her since she played Typhoid in Elektra, back in 2005. She's another good 'product of '70 generation...*grin Just look at this beauty... :D
Enough with the movies; Yesterday after two months (or was it three?) hiatus, me and my homies finally went karaoke again. Too bad Happy Puppy server experienced some kind of problem so we must cut our karaoke session short. There were many new songs we didn't get the chance to sing. It was fun though hanging out together again. Nothing new except David is resigning. Today's his last working day. Other than that...we're still three musketeers....three (not so) lonely guys....lollzzz
Well...my brain is exhausted now. I'm gonna sign off here and leave you with Sheila on 7's song. Coming up next, 2007 Dreamer's Award and Resolution Review...
'Pastilah diriku terlalu wibawa dan tampan untuk selalu kau miliki' lollzzzz
