Impossible???

I watched Mission Impossible 3 yesterday at the ‘old’ Gadink 21. It was another great sequel. The storyline evolved. It’s not all about a mission, get in, get out, save the day. It touched the private life of Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). Well, for you who haven’t watched it…I just wanna tell you that if you’re bored with the usual storyline of mission impossible, MI3 offers a ‘fresh’ storyline….and that my blog this time contains lot of spoiler….so you might want to skip reading this….;p

One thing that doesn’t change is the happy ending. Well I won’t talk much about the story and the cool scenes. I’m more interested in the normal relationship that Ethan had with Julia. How he always tried to cover up his real job and told Julia that he works at the dept of transportation. How he asked Julia to trust him cause he couldn’t tell her the truth. It reminds me that the foundation of every relationship is trust n honesty. He’s not being honest with Julia (well, eventually he did…but before he did, their relationship still survived). All I’m saying is that is it possible to maintain a relationship by not being (totally) honest? Or is it impossible?

In my personal opinion I think we do it all the time. I’m sure each one of us has dark, deep secret (or anything else) that we want to keep for ourselves. Either it’s an embarrassing experience, or whatever. That’s where the trust comes in. Sometimes we have to ask our partner to trust us in this matter. I know that trust comes in both ways, so we also have to trust our partner (cause I’m also sure that our partner has also some things that better left unspoken/unrevealed). The most important (and difficult) part is to choose which one(s) we can or can’t share. I’m still believe in honesty (well..not 100% honest you might say). The more honest we can be with our partner, the healthier our relationship becomes. If we keep in things too much we’ll become a stranger to our partner. This will drift both apart. We must be sensible in sharing things with our partner. That’s why I still believe that (99%) honesty is the foundation in a healthy relationship beside trust (which comes in both ways)…and I also want to add another aspect…..respect… in my personal opinion (and experience), these three cannot be omitted to build a lasting relationship…… but then again it takes two to tango……so both persons must have these three….

So…is it impossible?
